Podgora is located in the central part of Dalmatia, on the slopes of the mountain Biokovo, next to the clear blue sea. It was inhabited more than 500 years ago, people diligently cultivated the land, engaged in livestock and fishing.
The first tourists came in the early 20th century, to devote themselves en masse to tourism in the 1960s.

Above Podgora on the peaks of Biokovo (11km) stands a new attraction SKYWALK, a beautiful celestial promenade, which should definitely be visited for the most beautiful view of the panorama of the Makarska Riviera, sea, and islands.
In the evening, cultural programs, concerts, performances, folklore performances, fishermen's evenings, and fairs of agricultural products (OPG) are held.
Excursions to Split-Diocletian's Palace (65 km), Omiš to the river Cetina - kayaking, rafting, and Zip-line in the canyon are organized daily. Dubrovnik (130km), islands Brač, Hvar, and Korčula, the birth house of Marco Polo, the sanctuary of Medjugorje, Fish-picnic.
Historical monuments are a large stone church of All Saints with six stone altars built in 1760, the chapel of the Heart of Jesus with some other small chapels, and a beautiful white monument of the Seagull's Wings (33m high), a trademark of Podgora.
